Francisco Nunez

Dear Francisco,

Hello Francisco. How are you doing? I hope well. I’m just writing you this letter to tell you about the neighborhood where you are going to live in the future and play soccer. I know that you are crazy about soccer and it’s your passion. That’s why I want to tell you about where I practice my soccer skills on this field at Catalina in Tucson, Arizona.

Francisco, overall you’re going to like it, although there are a few things you’ll dislike. “Kiko,” I think that you are not going to like it because the field where you are going to be playing soccer with your brother is a little bit dirty, and it also is going to be in bad shape. Also, the people that go to run around the track aren’t very talkative like you.

But you will like the opportunities the field represents; it doesn’t matter if it’s dirty or in bad shape. I know that you are going to like it because in your hood in Mexico they don’t have a grass field to play soccer. You play soccer on the streets and if you fall, sometimes you can’t get up any more because of the injuries. Sometimes when you are playing soccer in the field, you’ll feel lonely because sometimes your brother is not going to play with you because he has to work, but I’m sure that you are going to like it because you’ll learn a lot in that field.

In your future neighborhood, there are also things that you are going to love. The thing that you are going to love the most is that Catalina High School is just one block from your house and you can get there easy and fast. Also, if you want, you can go there after school to practice your soccer skills. You will like that!

Sincerely,

Francisco “Kiko” Nuñez
